Will's Superman Birthday
I wanted to make Will a superman cake for his first birthday since he loves it when Shane and I fly him around the apartment in his superman pj's. With Betty Crocker's help, we were able to pull it off, and I'm pretty darn proud of how well it came out!

We used the excess cake to make Will his own "W" piece which he devoured in about 2 seconds (after shooting me a cautious grin). I think it's safe to say he likes chocolate cake and we may have created a monster...
Surprisingly he managed to keep all the cake on his face, bib, and hands which made for a relatively easy clean up. Not even a crumb in his hair! Click on the picture below to see the whole album.

Barcelona
Andreu and Susana, our old neighbors, graciously invited us to a calcotada (Onion BBQ) with their families. And I mean BBQ in the charred sense of the word. These things are literally grilled until they are black with ashes falling off of them. There is an art of peeling away the outer layers of the onion to reveal a perfectly golden inner core that you dip into some amazing sauce and slowly lower into your mouth like you would with those shoestring twizzlers. How cool are the Spanish? Really.
We loved everything about Barcelona from the boxed sangria to the pigeons in Plaza Catalunya. Thank you, Andreu and Susana for being the best tour guides! Hope you enjoy the pictures (click on the calcots to view).

Will at 8 months
In just a few days, Will turns 8 months old. This week he started dancing (well, bouncing) and clapping his hands. He makes us laugh all day long. It's hilarious watching him try to feed himself. We discovered Gerber Puffs while we were home over the holidays. Genius. These are a must have for the diaper bag. I'm never leaving home without them!
We started a mom and baby swim class today. Basically just bouncing them around in the kiddie pool and letting them play with pool toys. Like a glorified bath! He loved it. Speaking of baths, check him out in his new tub (thanks to his Aunt Eliana and Uncle Chris).

... the Delta bassinet on the flight home. Nice way to travel, huh?? Wish I had one.
When we got home, we went to the toy store to buy him a few new things.
But by the look on his face, not sure he likes them!
And of course we had to include this one since it so perfectly fits in with previous singing and dancing videos...
