This is really cool... we went to an old Monastery built in the 6th century right on the River Shannon. In this picture, we are standing in front of what's known as the whispering door. If you whisper something into the groove, the sound travels all the way around the arch so that if someone placed their ear near the groove, they could hear your whisper really clearly. It worked!
